Miracles - the hand of God

Merriam/Websters dictionary defines a miracle as an “extraordinary event manifesting divined intervention”. Cynics claim that miracles defy the laws of nature and therefore, cannot occur. Please consider the following example:

In Christ I am

These confessions from the word of God tells me who I am. In Christ I am.

What God says about me

Facts are what we see and hear and are always changing and uncertain. What is considered acceptable by the opinion one day could be unacceptable the next day.

God's word is the truth spoken by a God who cannot lie and cannot deny His own, it is unchangeable and everlasting.

Are you yearning or yawning?

As every new year dawns, I find myself earnestly yearning that it will be the year that will initiate the end time events that will lead to the Lord's return to this earth.

The first of those events will be the Rapture of the Church. That will be followed by the Great Tribulation of seven years, a period of unparalleled horror that will culminate in the return of Jesus to reign over all the world.

The writings of the early Church Fathers (100 to 300 A.D.) reveal that one of the earliest prayers of the Church was "Maranatha!" (1 Corinthians 16:22). That word is actually an Aramaic phrase that means "Our Lord come!" This prayer expresses a fact that is confirmed by many other scriptures; namely, that the First Century Church had an ardent desire for the soon return of Jesus.

Jesus is coming soon

Many people believe there is nothing that can be known about the timing of the Lord's return because Jesus said He would return like a thief in the night (Matthew 24:42-44).

But Paul makes it clear in 1 Thessalonians 5:1-6 that Jesus' statement does not apply to believers: "But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief..." He then proceeds to explain why: "for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober."

Paul is referring, of course, to the light of the Holy Spirit who indwells all true believers and who can enlighten us through our study of Scripture to know the season of the Lord's return (1 John 2:27).

The Anti-Christ Kingdom

The Word of God gives a space of seven years for the total reign of the Anti-Christ.

"I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name him ye will receive." (John 5:43)

In this one verse our Lord prophesied, that one day a false Messiah would come on the scene and that Jews would receive him as their Lord, Jesus stated, "him ye shall receive..."

Besides our Lord Jesus Christ, the anti-christ is the only other man in the scripture, who has been prophesied about with such clarity and detail. It is as if the Lord really wanted us to know in detail what this man would do when he comes on the scene.

The reality of hell

"The wicked shall be turned into Hell, and all nations that forget God." (Psalm 9:17) Hell, is it a real place? Will the wicked really go there? Will there be fire in Hell? Do you know what the Word of God has to say about this place? Hell is our topic of discussion.

The Rapture of the Church

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice if the archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first."

The Rapture of the Church is the next major glorious event to take place in God's prophetic plan. In this article, we will look at this doctrine in depth.

Today, there are many views on the subject. Many in the Church have taken a "let's wait and see" attitude because they have been confused by so many teachings.

Going the extra mile!

Dale Collins has a fascinating story to tell. As a missionary in Nigeria he helped a student who just graduated from a mission school to come back to his village. Dale drove the extra (300!) mile to get him there.

Now today, almost 50 years later, the fruit of "going the extra mile" for a brother is 2000 churches, a Bible College and a friendship for life. Read this exciting missionary report from Dale.
